I am experiencing an issue with my GitHub Copilot Pro+ subscription, as Claude 4 Opus and GPT 4.5 models are not appearing in the list of available agents.

Account Details:

Issue Description:
Despite my active GitHub Copilot Pro+ subscription, I cannot see or select Claude 4 Opus and GPT 4.5 models in the agent selection list. The other models appear normally, but Claude 4 Opus and GPT 4.5 models are not listed.

Steps I've already tried:

1. Log out and log back in to my GitHub account
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies
3. Try different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
4. Check your subscription status - make sure Pro+ is activated
5. Ensure you're using the latest browser version

Expected Behavior:
As a Pro+ subscriber, I expect to access all premium versions, including Claude 4 Opus, from the agent selection menu.

Actual Behavior:
Clude 4 Opus and the gpt 4.5 model do not appear in the dropdown list of available agents.

Questions:

1. Is Claude 3 Opus currently available to all Pro+ subscribers?
2. Are there any regional restrictions that might affect availability?
3. Is this model still being rolled out gradually?
4. Are there any account settings I need to enable to access this model? Please investigate this issue and provide instructions on how to access Claude 4 Opus and GPT 4.5 using my Pro+ subscription.

I have a similar case as the one mentioned previously. I have noticed that the Claude Opus 4 model is available in the "Ask" section of GitHub Copilot, and I appreciate your efforts in making it accessible.

I would like to request your support to make this model available in the Agent section as well. Having access to the model in Agent mode would be more convenient for coding tasks.

@saafwan I noticed that in the most recent release of VS Code (1.104), you can now change models mid-conversation without losing context. I have started asking Opus to outline tasks first, then switch to a smaller model like Sonnet to implement the changes. This workflow has worked well for me over the last few days.

Manually switching models looks like an additional benefit of the new Auto Model selection feature.

Hope this helps anyone looking to make the most of their subscription

You are right, although one of the conditions of the Pro+ plan is to work in proxy mode, the company should fix this issue.

It automatically disappeared after I selected Sonnet 3.5
Its like it downgraded my pro+ account or something.

I tried everything at this point - relogging, updating, reinstalling, but it still does not appear on the model list. I must admit it's quite disappointing given the price of the plan. Note this is not the case for web UI:

The Copilot app suddenly crashes while I'm writing code. Even if I reload it, it doesn't work. I deleted the app completely. I'm fed up with it, but I don't know how to get my money back.

Like all of you, I paid for Pro+ to access these models, and now am seeing that I can only "chat" without any "agent" capabilities. Very disappointing.

It’s pretty disappointing… I even upgraded to the Pro+ plan just to get Opus 4.1 in agentic mode. But the issue isn’t with GitHub, it’s with Anthropic. I’m confident that once the model is available in agentic mode, it’ll show up in VS Code as well.

It's really disappointing that Opus 4.1 isn't available in GitHub Copilot, especially since this wasn't clearly mentioned during plan selection. I expected to be able to choose Opus directly in the model selector—not just access it in the web browser.

Will I ever get it back Github, I want only that, the best coding model there is.

It was not... I think I started using it at the beginning of December, and it was only 1x. It is much more powerful than Sonnet.

In the new update 1x, 3x was disappeared and every request was taking 3x. I then downgrade to previous version. But now when I again upgrade it, the same previous version layout showing 1x, 3x etc...

Why you removed gpt5.2 and opus ? pro is not good for this now , you can't do this with all of these models updates pro package is a week package now and the current models you kept here like gemeni 3 is dcisonnect alot and its stupid to understand and can't create a single file it disconnects alot now why we should use github copilot ? and all old models of Claude is normal the sonnet 4.5 is useless.

same issue here, Opus 4.5 and GPT 5.1 and 5.2 are suddenly gone from my VS code on windows 11. No idea why.

tried:

• Full logout and login of GitHub account in VS Code.
• Manually cleared %APPDATA%\Code\User\globalStorage\github.copilot-chat.
• Manually cleared Windows Credential Manager entries for vscode-github and github.
• Models missing from "Manage Models" or "Language Models" menu in VS Code
• The only place where the models are available is in: https://github.com/copilot/agents
• They are otherwise missing from https://github.com/settings/copilot/features
