Payment Methods for GitHub Copilot in India #111965
-
Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyI'm interested in subscribing to GitHub Copilot, but I'm unable to use the currently supported payment methods (PayPal and international credit/debit cards). There are no alternative payment options available for users in India, as UPI or domestic card payments are not yet enabled. Is there a timeline for when Indian payment gateways, UPI or domestic cards might be supported? |

Hey everyone, As of today (August 6, 2025), I’m using the latest GitHub mobile app on Android, but I couldn’t find the “Subscribe to Copilot” option anywhere. I’ve already tried: Still no “Subscribe” button under Settings → GitHub Copilot. Is mobile subscription in India on Android not supported yet? Or am I missing something obvious? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated—thank you! |

Currently, GitHub Copilot only supports international credit/debit cards and PayPal. UPI or domestic-only cards in India aren’t supported yet, and GitHub hasn’t announced a public timeline for enabling Indian payment gateways. The best option is to either use an international card/PayPal, or keep an eye on GitHub’s official updates — new regional payment methods are usually announced in the GitHub Changelog |

Hi everyone 👋 A new post has been created to continue this discussion in a more focused way: It would be great if you could review it and share your support there. Since this thread was marked as answered, it may no longer get the attention it needs. That’s why I’ve opened a new discussion to keep the momentum going.
