When providing a streaming response, it would be helpful to see the changes in the current conversation name. May I ask if it is currently possible to obtain the sub-field information of the conversation name during the streaming response process?

It’s not currently possible to access or update the conversation name (or other sub-fields) during a streaming response in Dify. The streaming API only sends message content and event type; conversation metadata like the name is not included in the stream and can only be updated or retrieved after the stream completes. This is due to both backend and frontend architectural constraints—mid-stream updates to metadata aren’t supported in the current implementation, and the networking layer only exposes metadata after the stream finishes source.

Conversation names are typically generated or updated after a message is processed, not during streaming. There is an API for renaming conversations, but it’s a separate operation and not integrated into the streaming response flow source.

If you need real-time updates to conversation metadata during streaming, it would require changes to both the backend (to include metadata in the stream payload) and the frontend (to handle and display those updates as they arrive). Current issues and discussions confirm that partial or incremental updates to structured output fields during streaming are not supported; the entire response must finish before such metadata can be updated or shown source.
