Roadmap / Release Schedule

Hey there! I was wondering if you have public information reg. release schedule / roadmap? It's been a while since last release if I am reading the github page correctly

Hey @mkarbo! We don't have public information on this at the moment, but we're working towards a next stable release as soon as we can. For some context, this upcoming release has two things which are quite critical and we'd like to take the time to get this right before it gets deployed across all environments. Those things are (1) removing v0 (legacy) engine code and frontend components and (2) supporting an underlying rewrite of our payload storage layer to better support multi-tier storage architectures, effectively allowing users to offload payloads after some time to S3 or an object store. There are tons of smaller fixes and improvements bundled in as well.

Our goal is to get this completed before the end of the year and publish a new stable release then.

Going forward, releases should be on a much faster cadence and we will definitely make more of our roadmap public. The v0 -> v1 migration is a rarity, we don't plan on doing an entire rewrite for at least a few years :)

Yes, we're nearly there! Should be coming tomorrow or the day after: just putting together release notes and upgrade guides. The payloads work is stable and all legacy v0 engine code has been removed in the newest tags.

I'm super excited to see v1. Coming from pgboss where I tried to reimvent saga myself, I see a ton of things in hatchet I wish pgboss had.

And @KazimirPodolski you should already be able to use v1, as it was first released back in April and became the engine default a few major releases ago.
