Description

When recording or previewing an iPhone screen in QuickTime, locking the iPhone causes the preview to freeze on the last frame. There is no indication that the preview is stale---it appears as though the device is simply displaying static content.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Connect an iPhone to a Mac via USB
  2. Open QuickTime Player > File > New Movie Recording
  3. Select the iPhone as the camera source
  4. Observe the live preview
  5. Lock the iPhone

Expected Behavior: QuickTime should indicate the device is locked or unavailable — either via a black preview, an overlay message ("iPhone Locked"), or by stopping the preview.

Actual Behavior: The preview freezes on the last frame. No indication is shown. If recording, the recording continues capturing the frozen frame indefinitely.
