Describe the bug
Convert freezes after "Loading scaler from scaler plugin" on any Linux distribution. I have tested across different CPU architectures and fresh installed distributions with completely separate and newly generated datasets. Anyone can easily reproduce this. This also applies to both NVIDIA and CPU options, presumably this also occurs on AMD

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install Linux (any distribution)
2. Run latest install script

Expected behavior
Convert should work

I'd be thrilled if someone can solve this. Right now I have to explode a video into a folder of frames before I can convert it, but that can take 50x the space (50gb instead of 1gb) which is prohibitively large.

here:

if "fast == True":
terminal does not always return the number of frames in the video;
Apparently, not all videos have metadata about the number of frames.
