How to fix firefox bookmark favicon in dark mode?

When using Firefox with a dark theme, the bookmarks icon on GitHub becomes very hard to see.
It blends into the background because the icon itself is also dark, making it nearly invisible.
This can be frustrating for users—so how can we fix this and make the icon clearly visible again?

Hi @tazihad – thanks for reporting this. As @queenofcorgis noted earlier, the GitHub accessibility team has reviewed the issue. Favicons are heavily cached by browsers, and some handle bookmarks differently from active tabs. Given these constraints, the current treatment is intentional and balances caching behavior with the experience we aim to provide.

While this may not be the answer you were hoping for, your feedback was taken seriously. We’ll update this thread if anything changes, but for now, we’re closing this as out of scope. Thanks again for helping us improve!
