Different pagination styles in slide mode?

Is there any easy approach to change the pagination style in slide show mode? As far as I understand the slides use swiper.js, so it may be possible to set the pagination style to "partial", showing only current slide number / total. Is it something achievable using custom html header?

I would request this as a feature, it's indeed not supported. You could use js injection (swiper after initialize) but that's not a very elegant solution.
Slides are much less configurable as per the docs themselves: https://docs.marimo.io/guides/apps/#slides-layout
If you just want to hide you could do it with only CSS, but the options will be limited.

One addition: Swiper v11 is used and it does support pagination (type: "fraction"), this would be a relatively straightforward feature for the marimo team to expose if you want to file the request

Thx @StevenBtw! Since I'm mainly using marimo slide mode for some interactive course materials, it's okay to just add a simple "slide i out of N" html object on each cell. Is that something doable from the python side?

Yes, you can do this from Python. For example:

TOTAL = 10 # adjust for your total nr of slides

def slide_num(n):
    return mo.Html(f'<div style="text-align:right;color:#888;font-size:0.9em">{n} / {TOTAL}</div>')

Then wrap your slide content with mo.vstack([..., slide_num(i)]).

This does require manual numbering maintenance when reordering or adding slides.
