Short answer: No "Create Folder" on home page, and no, don't spin up containers per project. Marimo treats notebooks as plain The practical approach: # Create project with uv, then edit notebooks inside
uv init my-project && cd my-project
uv add marimo
uv run marimo edit notebook.pyFor Docker: Mount your projects directory, organize on host: docker run -v /path/to/projects:/home/marimo/projects -p 2718:2718 marimo edit --host 0.0.0.0Home page creates notebooks (the fundamental unit). FILES panel creates folders for organizing assets within a notebook's context. Different purposes. You can check these docs: I hope that answers your question, good luck! |

I want to create new project in marimo and surprised the top page UI does not have "create new folder" button, even though FILES panel (what you see left side when you open notebook) does.
In the contrary, top page has huge icon to "create new notebook" which I could not find in FILES panel.
So, what is the philosophy of creating / managing multiple projects in marimo?
I'm running marimo on Docker. Should creating a whole new container per project be the answer???
